Portfolio Project 1: Leadership Development Virtual Instructor-Led Training
Project Brief: As part of a wider leadership development initiative, I created a series of monthly sessions for managers at a large health media company. The company had a high rate of internal promotions and was formed via a series of mergers and acquisitions, so one of the first problems I attempted to solve from an L&D lens was to set a singular expectation for managers at this company, informed by the company’s vision, purpose and values. Managers were led through various exercises including journaling exercises, breakout rooms, and polls to discover their Purpose and Values and connect them to their wider work and the work of their teams. This training was designed to be delivered by a facilitator in a one hour session.
Collateral: The collateral developed was created following WCAG and ADA accessibility standards while remaining in line with the company’s branding guidelines. Facilitator and Producer directions are contained in the speaker notes. A participant guide was created to enhance and enable participant activities in the workshop. A sample of the participant guide can be found under the facilitator slides.
Impact: Managers who attended reported higher feelings of confidence in their own leadership and were more likely to act autonomously. Their teams reported better understanding of how their work contributes to the overall mission of the company.
